Hitchcock-styled movie.

Entry fee - $21 per Team.
Before the competition begins, teams are encouraged to watch and study the films of Alfred Hictchcock, so they can produce a film similar to his filmmaking style.

PART 1 - REGISTRATION
- Registration Fee = $21 / team
- Designate one person (Team Contact Member) to register the team and serve as point of contact. There is no limit to the number of participants in each Production Team.
- All cast members acting in the films MUST BE CURRENT Playhouse West members in the acting technique classes, the Flux Comedy Dojo classes or the Screenwriting classes. (Cast members DO NOT need to be in the same class together.)
- The production crews may consist of former Playhouse members and individuals outside of Playhouse West.
- A Payment Request will be return-emailed to each registrant.
- The entry fee must be paid by credit/debit card via PayPal (no PayPal account needed) within 24 hours of the Payment Request; to reserve a spot for your team.
- There will be NO REFUNDS - no exceptions - for Production Teams who withdraw from the competition, for any reason, prior to the start of the competition.
- Once the competition begins, each team will be required to read and sign the Official Rules Agreement which outlines the festival rules each Production Team must follow thereafter.
PART 2 - FESTIVAL BEGINS
- A meeting will be held on Thursday, March 28 at 3pm, during which the Production Teams will receive a log-line idea that must be represented in the storytelling of their films.
- The Team Contact Member must sign the Official Rules Agreement.
- At 4pm, the teams will be released from the meeting and will then have 120 hours to write, cast, shoot and edit their 5-minute short film.
- The completed films must be submitted by 4pm, Tuesday, April 2. Films submitted after 4pm will not be accepted.
PART 3 - SCREENING
- Eligible films will be screened on Friday, April 5 - 8pm at Playhouse West - Magnolia 1 (10634 Magnolia Bl.)
- Following the screening, the winning film will be announced.
- The Best Short Film winner will be screened opening night of the Playhouse West Film Festival - April 26.

Following the screening, awards will be presented for Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Short Film, voted on by a panel of Judges.
The Best Short Film Winner will be automatically selected and screened at the 2018 Playhouse West Film Festival!

- Once a team pays the entrance fee, they will receive the sub-genre (type of horror film) in which their film must be made. This will allow the teams to prepare any special effects (make-up, wardrobe) needed. So the sooner you sign up, the sooner you will be able to begin to prepare!
