MONOLOGUE STUDY

During the first half of the course, students will participate in various preliminary exercises, providing them with the tools they need to express the material truthfully out of themselves, not as a character. Once that foundation has been achieved, the second half of the course will be a journey to Spoon River where the students will utilize their newfound skills to fully inhabit the monologue stories of town's departed residents.

Wolfgang Bodison studied the Meisner technique at Playhouse West under the tutelage of Robert Carnegie. After years of serving as a teacher at the school, he was then chosen to serve as Director of the school when Tony Savant moved to Philadelphia to open Playhouse West Philly. Along with teaching the beginning, intermediate and advanced level of classes, he's also the Festival Director of the Playhouse West One Act Fest and the Playhouse West Film Festival, both of which are annual events.
As an actor, he’s best remembered for his performance as Lance Corporal Harold Dawson in the critically acclaimed, Rob Reiner film, A Few Good Men.
