“I didn’t know anything about acting until I attended Playhouse West. I had so much fun there, and learned the variables to solve any equation that might be given to me in a script.”

ALL POTENTIAL STUDENTS MUST FIRST AUDIT A CLASS

Appointment is Required.   Audit is free.

Registration form is at the bottom of this page.

Auditing an entire class is REQUIRED because we want you to see and experience how our classes are run and how we train people.   Membership is granted on the basis of an interview with Tony Savant, Director, or Associate Instructor, Ed Aristone.   The interviews are brief and take place immediately after the audit.

**In Philadelphia we accept students as young as 14, however anyone under 18 or still in high school must be accompanied by a parent when they audit and interview.

There are currently 5 classes available to audit in Philadelphia.

Daytime

Tuesdays & Thursdays

@ 12:00 pm - 3 pm

Evening

Mondays, Tuesdays & Thursdays

@6:30 pm - 9:30 pm

Any questions will be answered at the time of your audit.  Our classes are three hours in length.

You will be auditing a multi-level class, where some students will be doing the Intermediate or Advanced level work, including scenes or other advanced exercises, while other students will be doing the Level I work.  Level I, or the beginning level, is the fundamental technique level of the work where all new students begin.  The students at this step will have either just started their training or may have been working with us for several weeks or months.

The exercises and scenes you will observe have at their root two clear guidelines: (1) acting is more instinctive than intellectual, and (2) it is vital for the actor to connect with his working partner.  These basic principles are emphasized and trained into the actor in various ways until they become habit.

As the actor moves through the program there is progressively more scene work, accompanied by advanced exercises, public “Scene Presentations”, participation in Playhouse West theatrical productions, and/or work in the many film projects that use our acting company.
